About our Speaker Kh Susan Wallace...
Kh Susan is an Executive Assistant for an Oklahoma State Senator in Oklahoma City, and spends her weekends journeying to Stillwater to be a part of St. James Orthodox Church, where her husband Fr Mark serves as priest.
Together with her husband of 44 years, Kh Susan has three married daughters, Andrea, Allison, and Amy, as well as six granddaughters and four grandsons.
In her spare time, she loves to cook, entertain, and travel. Above all, her passion is to teach. She is inspired by Titus’ exhortation to the older women to teach the younger.
For 20 years prior to becoming Orthodox, Kh Susan was leading women’s Bible studies and speaking at women’s retreats. Since her conversion to Orthodoxy 15 years ago, Kh Susan has been involved in some capacity with the Antiochian Women.
She believes women are a beautiful icon of the Bride of Christ, but that most of us go through life as “Sleeping Beauties,” unaware of how beautiful we are to Christ and how much he longs to be with us.
‘Ascending the Mountain’ is a call to come up higher during this special Lenten season.
